She is survived by: her children, Brian Hamilton Messick (Sheila) of Charlotte and Karen Laity Prather of Lenoir; and her granddaughters, Emily Caroline Messick (Caitlin), Sarah Elizabeth Laity, Grace Rebecca Laity and Hannah Danyelle Messick.
