He was predeceased by: his parents, Rufus "Leonard" Hedrick and Effie Barlow Hedrick; his wife Rema Maltba Hedrick; his son Steve Hedrick; his grandson Andy Hedrick; and his siblings, Ernest Hedrick, Albert Hedrick of Melvin Hedrick, T. D, Gene Hedrick, Christine Walker and Betty Duffey.
He is survived by: his children, Caroll Hedrick (Doris), Regina Brookshire (Doug) and Allison Hoyle (Mark); his daughter-in-law Dorcas Hedrick; his grandchildren, Jeff Hedrick (Crystal), Robert Hedrick (Kimberly), Jamie White (Phillip), John Brookshire (Andrea) and Matthew Hoyle (Mary); and his great grandchildren, Joshua, Timothy, Garrett, Samuel, Corryn, Josephine, Holden, Laurel, Savannah and Lacey. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Sunday, October 25th 2026 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Kings Creek Baptist Church (4698 Kings Creek Church Rd, Lenoir, NC 28645). A funeral service was held on Sunday, October 25th 2026 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
