She was predeceased by: her parents, George Laney and Pansy Jones Laney; her husband Garland Laxton; her children, Ricky L. Laxton and Debra Elaine Laxton; and her siblings, Bill Laney and Sue Jaynes.
She is survived by: her niece Laura Gentry (Richard) of Granite Falls, NC; her nephews, Doug Laney (Kathy) of Lenoir, NC and Jonathan Laws of Lenoir, NC; and her close friend Ella Mae Kirby.
