He was predeceased by: his parents, William Thelmer Garnes and Dorothy Leola Quinn; and his siblings, William James Garnes (Netta-Belle Haney), Jospeh Ed Garnes, Harold Junior Garnes (Millie Jewel Garnes), Joe Billy Garnes (Carolyn Laws Garnes), Edith Haas Garnes (Marvin Andrew Haas), Faye Haas Garnes (Ira Haas), Vera Haas Garnes (Franklin Delano Haas) and Ruth May Garnes (Harry M. "Don").
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, May 28th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Clearview Baptist Church (2455 Alfred Hartley Rd, Lenoir, NC 28645). A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, May 28th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
