He was predeceased by: his parents, Frank Martin and Florence Martin; and his brothers, Blaine Franklin Martin and James Lee Martin. He is survived by: his wife Peggy Houck Martin; his daughter Teresa Martin-Brayboy (Brian); his sister Dr. Rae Hansberry; and his granddaughter Lindsey Martin. He is also survived by numerous nieces an nephews.
Visitation will be held on Monday, October 5th 2026 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Greer-McElveen Funeral Home Chapel (725 Wilkesboro Blvd NE, Lenoir, NC 28645). A memorial service will be held on Monday, October 5th 2026 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Red Cross.
