She was predeceased by: her parents, Ernest Triplett and Easter Triplett; her husband James Ward; her siblings, Junior Triplett, Marshall Triplett, Nancy Hartley and Willa Dean Rich; her stepsons, Jeffery Potter and Jimmy Ward; and her granddaughter Leslie Danielle Hamby.
She is survived by: her children, Charles Hamby, Jeanna Warhurst (Troy) and Wendy Whitt (Peter); her stepchildren, Debbie Dickens (Norman), Tammy Griffin (Eddy) and Paul David Ward; her sisters, Wimmie Lawhon and Bonnie Farr; and her grandchildren, Christopher, Matthew, Kylie, Savana, Ashley, Phillip, Elizabeth, Erin, Enya, Dean, Lucas, Adrian, Heather, Jessica, Megan, Annie and Sarah. She is also survived by numerous great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Saturday, July 12th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Covenant Baptist Church (1425 Lee Pearson Rd, Granite Falls, NC 28630). A memorial service was held on Saturday, July 12th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
