He is survived by: his children, Jerry DeWayne Pope (LaSonyia) of Morganton, NC and Priscilla Coldiron (Robert) of Newport News, VA.; his grandchildren, Macey Lauren Coldiron, Davin Manns, Lindsey Pope, Logan Pope, Presley Pope, LaDarra Sherrill and Britny Leal; his great grandchildren, Taylen, Maxximus, Malibu, Kayden, Cameron and Ezra; and his brother Dean Pope.
A funeral service was held on Tuesday, September 1st 2026 at 1:00 PM and at 2:00 PM at the Evans Funeral Services (1070 Taylorsville Rd SE, Lenoir, NC 28645).
