She was predeceased by: her parents, Arlie Joe Powell and Arlee Opeal Waters Powell; her husband Jerry Jenkins; and her pet Ginger. She is survived by: her daughters, Christina Long (Jack), Stephanie Godfrey (Stephen) and Brittany Michelle Philyaw; her son-in-law Colt Philyaw; and her siblings, Mike Powell (Cindy), Richard Powell (Ashley), Teresa Mikeal (David), Jane Garrett and Kay Sparks (Jerry). She is also survived by her many grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Monday, May 18th 2026 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at the Pendry's Lenoir Funeral Home (522 Wilkesboro Blvd NE, Lenoir, NC 28645). A funeral service will be held on Monday, May 18th 2026 at 1:00 PM at the Pendry's Lenoir Funeral Home Chapel (522 Wilkesboro Blvd NE, Lenoir, NC 28645).
