Katie left this world on October 3, 2025 at the age of 80, leaving a void in the lives of so many people. In the sacred silence of farewell, Katie is released into the embrace of eternity, knowing that her light will continue to shine brightly in the tapestry of the lives of her loved ones. She was predeceased by: her parents, Vonley Carlton and Melba Carlton; her son Michael Carlton; and her siblings, Clyde Carlton, Kaye Phillips and Dallie Mae Hoyle.
She is survived by: her siblings, Ralph Carlton of Hudson, Rayvon Carlton of Lenoir, Ann Oakes of Lenoir and Shirley Green of Lenoir; and her granddaughters, McKinley Gettel and Hailey Phillips. She is also survived by two great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 7th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Pendry's Lenoir Funeral Home (522 Wilkesboro Blvd NE, Lenoir, NC 28645). A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, October 7th 2025 at 12:00 PM at the same location.
