He was predeceased by: his grandparents, James William Clay, Sr., Clyde McCall Clay, Aradel and Aradelle Williams. He is survived by: his father James William Clay, Jr.; his wife Karen Lackey Clay; his sons, Charles Alex Clay (Leti) and Kelton Riain Clay (Emily); his grandson Kelton Luca; his siblings, Damon Clay (Selina) and Karen (Eric Crisp); his niece Abby Clay; and his nephews, Zach, Noah Clay, Deegan and Mason Crisp.
In lieu of flowers the family ask that donations be made to the Robin's Nest in Lenoir in his memory.
