With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Lena Mae Sherrill Barlow of Lenoir, North Carolina, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on August 5, 2025 at the age of 92. She was predeceased by: her parents, Guy F. Sherrill and Pearl Perry Sherrill; her husband F. Dermont Barlow; her son Neal Barlowe; and her brother Wayne Sherrill.
She is survived by: her children, Stephen D. Barlow (Debbie) and Charlene Barlow Helderman (Larry); her sister Lois Sherrill Teeters; her grandchildren, Anita Helderman Melton (Scott), Richard David Helderman (Thea), David Barlowe (Hannah) and Carrie Tutka (Patrick); her great grandchildren, Jordan Melton, Wesley Melton, Finley Barlowe, Haddie Barlowe, Maddie Barlowe and John Tutka; and her caregiver Kay Madison. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
