He was predeceased by: his mother Maxine W. Smith of Lenoir, NC.. He is survived by: his father Luther M. Smith; his wife Tracy K. Smith; his children, Noah H. Smith and Kalee G. Smith; his pet Roxy; his sister Robin S. Hamby (Jimmy) of Lenoir, NC; his mother-in-law Watha H. Kendrick (Sherrill V. Kendrick); his brothers-in-law, Greg A. Kendrick of Granite Falls, NC and Gary L. Kendrick (Sheryl) of Tumwater, WA.; and his nephews, Jeremiah Hamby (Mariah), Josh Hamby (Olivia), Anthony Kendrick, Cody Kendrick (Amie) and Dennis Kendrick.
In lieu of flowers the family respectfully requests that memorials be sent to First Citizens Bank 436 Central St, Hudson, NC, 28638, c/o Smith Children Education Fund for the sole purpose of continuing their children's education.
