He was predeceased by: his parents, Aras Benton Blevins and Clemmie Juanita Severt Blevins; his wife Barbara Keller Blevins; his daughter-in-law Kimberly Blevins; and his siblings, Mitchell Blevins, Elmer Blevins, Doug Blevins, Shirley Morgan and Cathy Blevins.
He is survived by: his children, LaMarr Blevins and LaVenta "Sam" Umek (Iztok); his siblings, Otis Blevins, Judy Morgan, Debbie Miller (Jimmy) and Norma Gilmer (Jim); his grandchildren, Brand Blevins (Kayla), Heather Beaver (Alan), Lauren Keyes (Vince), Kendra Lanning Umek and Lana Umek; and his great grandchildren, Izabelle Blevins, Ryker Blevins, Leah Lanning and Zayden Lanning. He is also survived by grandchildren and four honorary great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Saturday, September 12th 2026 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Greer-McElveen Funeral Home Chapel (725 Wilkesboro Blvd NE, Lenoir, NC 28645). A funeral service was held on Saturday, September 12th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Amorem Hospice, 902 Kirkwood Street NW, Lenoir NC 28645.
