Mavis leaves behind cherished memories for friends, family, and all who had the privilege of knowing her. Mavis’s life was marked by connections and experiences that touched those around her. She was predeceased by: her parents, Walter Vines and Myrtle Chandler Vines; her sisters, Reba Greene and Sandy Vines; and her siblings-in-law, Janice Vines, Fred Greene and Gene Greene.
She is survived by: her husband Leonard D. Staton; her siblings, Ted Vines of Lenoir, Mildred Greene of Lenoir and Mabel Jenkins (John) of Lenoir; and her sister-in-law Faye Staton Williams. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
