He is survived by: his grandson Erik Warren Soots; his siblings, Joe, Floyd Powell, Alta Townsend and Nancy Bolick; his children, Jimmy Lee Powell (Janet) of Lenoir and Sharon Powell Soots (Ray) of Granite Falls; his grandchildren, Andrea Danielle Powell Hambright (David) of Hickory, Angelique Dawn Soots Price (Brian) of Lenoir, Barry Glenn Soots (Esther) of Florida and Jeffrey Ray Soots (Lynne) of Oak Island, NC; his great grandchild Kristi Soots Parker (Louis); his grandchildren, Megan Soots Gaddy (Trey), Lauren Price, Chris Price (Lindsey) and Brittany Price; his great great grandchildren, Jaiden Blow, Kaileb Blow, Charlotte Price and Boone Price; and his siblings, Mary, Jean, Linda, Tom and Dan.

A funeral service will be held on Friday, October 3rd 2025 at 1:00 PM at the South Lenoir Church of God (1786 Hickory Blvd, Lenoir, NC 28645).
