He was predeceased by: his parents, Shuford Swing and Daisy Everhart Swing; his wife Sandra Garner Swing; and his brothers, Thomas Swing and Roy Swing.

He is survived by: his children, Candy Swing Boyette (John) of Wilson and Sandy Lee Swing (Andrea) of Archer Lodge; his grandchildren, Emily Rose Swing (Ian Maynard), Jessie Lee Boyette, Callie Ann Boyette, Dane, Olivia, Brooke and Brayden Martin; his great grandchild Anderson Irving Maynard; his sisters-in-law, Linda Beck and Jeanette Swing; and his close friend Brenda Doub.
