It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Betty E. Brown Crayton (Lexington, North Carolina), who passed away on June 24, 2025, at the age of 87, leaving to mourn family and friends. As we bid adieu to Betty's earthly form, let us not dwell on the void left in her wake, but rather celebrate the legacy of love and inspiration Betty has bequeathed us. For though she may have departed from our sight, her spirit remains a timeless beacon, guiding loved ones through the labyrinth of life's journey.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Phoenix Brown and Pearl Hairston Brown; and her sisters, Mae Olia Jenkins and Emma Lou Brown. She is survived by: her daughter Evely Inita Witherspoon (Carl); and her brother Phoenix Brown, Jr. (Carla). She is also survived by seven grandchildren; and a host of great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, extended family, and dear friends.
