Carl Eugene Burkhart Obituary
We are sad to announce that, on August 10, 2023, at the age of 93, Carl Eugene Burkhart of Lexington, North Carolina passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Gurney Franklin and Minnie Ingram Burkhart; his daughter Glenna Burkhart Thorpe; and his siblings, Hazel Tussey, Lester Burkhart, Lois Pinkler and Paige Mallard.
He is survived by: his wife Mary Gay Johnson Burkhart; his daughters, Carla Burkhart of Lexington and Kim Shuman (Scott) of Lexington; his son-in-law Chris Thorpe; his grandchildren, Jerry "Bo" Hufton (Regina) of Winston-Salem and Wendy Smith (Aaron) of Lexington; his great grandchild Dravon Hufton (Hannah); his sister Doris Allen; his niece Cheryl Prevo (Greg); and his pets, Precious, Buster and Shadow. He is also survived by numerous other nieces and nephews and other extended family.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Beck's Lutheran Church.
