It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Casper Reid Essick (Lexington, North Carolina), born in Welcome, North Carolina, who passed away on August 29, 2023, at the age of 80, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Zella Hinkle Essick and Fred L. Essick; and his siblings, Colin Essick, Joe Essick, Holland Essick, Ellis Lee Essick, Ruth Sink, Willie Medlin and Devara Everhart.
He is survived by: his wife Becky Freeman Essick; his children, Jonathan Essick (Julie), Brian Essick, Amy E Dally (Randy) and Jane E Dennis (Jay); his stepgrandchildren, Sarah L Essick (Bradly McDaniel-Fiancé), Matthew R Essick, Erin L Dennis, Morgan J Dennis, Cayden S Dally, Kara K Dally, Ashley Dally (Daniel Walker-Fiancé), Caitlin Mabe (Jeff), Brandon Easter (McKenzie) and Cameron Easter (Kaylyn Vaughn-Fiance); his great grandchildren, Noah Walser, Grant Walker, Kendall Mabe and Logan Mabe; and his sisters, Alma Lou Craver and Peggy Griffie. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that memorials be directed to the Disaffiliation Fund for Bethesda (2922 Bethesda Rd., Lexington, NC 27295) or the American Red Cross (650 Coliseum Dr., Winston Salem).
