She was predeceased by: her parents, Johnny R. Rogers and Nora Barton Rogers; her son Johnnie Smith; and her siblings, Eugene Rogers and Jeanette R. Smith.
She is survived by: her children, Valerie Smith of Greensboro, Sylvester Smith of Lexington and Edward Smith of Lexington; her daughters-in-law, Tammy Smith and LaTonya Smith; and her siblings, Thomas Rogers of Lexington, John Rogers of Kannapolis, Willie Rogers (Dorene) of Rocky Mount and Elnora Hairston. She is also survived by 6 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren and 4 great-great-grandchildren.
