He is survived by: his son Chris; his daughter-in-law Karen Leonard; his grandchildren, Justin, Sam and Kate Leonard; his sister-in-law Jill (Danny Wood); his niece Carmen (Jason Mutch); his nephew Matthew (Candace Wood); Bethany Latham.
A graveside service will be held on Monday, September 21st 2026 at 2:00 PM at the Bethel Cemetery.
The family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorial donations be made in Briggs's honor to Tyro Methodist Church, Memo: Family Life Center Project, 4484 S. NC Highway 150, Lexington, NC 27295.
