He was predeceased by : his parents, David Hampton Smith and Lillie Mae Trantham Smith; his son Jeffrey Lee Smith; and his sister Audrey Smith Hardin. He is survived by : his wife Mary Alice "Penny" Smith; his son Bryan Smith (Debbie) of Lexington; his daughter-in-law Laura Long Smith of Winston Salem; his grandchildren, Colton Wesley Smith, Clinton Logan Smith, Mason Wedel, Morgan Cross and Taylor Cross; his great grandchildren, Aaron and Weston; and his sister Rosiland Smith Walker of Lexington.
