He was predeceased by: his parents, Molcie Bunce and Walter Bunce; and his former wife Betty Lou Graham Bunce. He is survived by: his wife Shirley Swing Bunce; his children, D. Linwood Bunce (Anita), Graham A. Bunce (Lana), Elizabeth F. Bunce (Bill Bates), Darrell Swing (Lisa) and Joni Faulkner; and his grandchildren, Rev. Daryn Stylianopoulos (Spiro), Lin Story-Bunce (Caryanne), Kendall Grubb (Justin), June Bunce, Dr. Adam Bunce (Brittani), Dr. Brianna Douglas (Bruce), Russala Staton (Jon), Austin Rivas (Tanner), Olivia Bunce, Grayson Bates (Caitlin Branham), Taylor Dare Bates, Hailey Phillips (Owen), McKinley Gettel (Daniel), Brooklyn Hunter (Joseph) and Sarah Faulkner. He is also survived by 19 great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Friday, September 5th 2025 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Davidson Funeral Home, Lexington Chapel (301 N Main St, Lexington, NC 27292). A celebration of life was held on Saturday, September 6th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the First Baptist Church (201 W 3rd Ave, Lexington, NC 27292).
