He was predeceased by: his parents, George Leon Thompson and Lois Tilley Thompson Hall; his stepparents, Roger Hall and Magadeline Currie Thompson; and his former wife Joy Thompson.
He is survived by: his children, Jennifer Barrier (Bryan) and Jonathan Thompson (Lisa); his grandchildren, Kaila and Chloe; and his siblings, Gale Rotundo (Art), Becky McMillan (Smokey), Debbie Thompson, Alice Taylor (Robbie) and Douglas Thompson (Felicia). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
