He was predeceased by: his parents, Cletus Palmer and Clatie Potts Palmer; and his brother Rodney Palmer. He is survived by: his wife Patricia Hedrick Palmer; his sister-in-law Sedena Palmer; his sons, Wes Palmer (Marisvel) and Jeff Palmer (Grace); his stepchildren, Jeff Jones (Patricia) and Daria Westervelt (Mark); his grandchildren, Vivian Palmer, Philip Jones, Haley Westervelt Mabry (Hayes), Aaron Byerly, Jackson Westervelt and Cassidy Jones; and his sibling's children, Ashley Cotter (Brian), Michelle Brazee-Custer (Jay), Wendy Lester (Danny) and Roddy Palmer (Tammy).
He served his community, with his beloved wife, Pat, by serving Meals on Wheels, continuing that service during the COVID-19 Pandemic.
