She was predeceased by : her parents, Jimmie Preston Baker and Lillie Woodard Baker; her husband Robert Elwood Brinkley; her children, Charles Franklin Brinkley and Barbara Sink; and her sister Ella Mooring.

She is survived by : her siblings, Donald Lee Baker and Jackie Loney.

A graveside service was held on Sunday, April 28th 2024 at 2:00 PM at the Bethesda Church Cemetery (2922 Bethesda Rd, Lexington, NC 27295).

In honoring Dorothy's legacy, her family kindly requests that memorials be directed to the First Baptist Church of Welcome Deaf Ministry or to Hospice of Davidson County.
