He was predeceased by: his brother-in-law Charles Whitley; and his nieces, Karen Whitley and Mary Susan Chase. He is survived by: his wife Donna Shroat Lane; his children, Penny Lane Penninger (Timothy), Charla Lane Williams and James Charles Lane; his grandchildren, Sarah Lane Penninger Wright (Bobby), Brock Edward Penninger (Hope), Alexander Lane Williams, Lanie Anne Williams, Kennedy Hadassah Lane and Claire Bethany Lane; and his sisters, Sharon Lane Whitley and Ellen Lane Story (Joe).
