She was predeceased by: her parents, Alonzo Lee Smith and Hester Mae Watkins Smith; her husband Willie Lee Thomas, Sr.; and her siblings, T. J. Jefferson, David Smith, Roosevelt Smith, Clyde Smith and Martha Lee McNeair.
She is survived by: her children, Willie Lee Thomas, Jr. (Peggy), Roosevelt Thomas (Althea), Hester A. Brodie Aaron (Timothy) and Kelesia Bennett Thomas; and her sisters, Morphine Young, Cornelia Geer (Richard) and Delia Smith-Davis. She is also survived by thirteen grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren.
