He was predeceased by: his parents, James Elsworth Craven and Beulah Louise Miller Craven; his son Sheldon Devon Craven; his sister Denise Craven; and his parents-in-law, Vernon and Jean Hargrave.
He is survived by: his wife Saundra H. Craven; his grandchildren, Cassidy Craven, Jacob Craven, Harmony Craven, Eli Craven, Landon Craven, Levi Craven, Liam Craven, Saniya Craven, Elijah Craven, Ayanna Cephus and Jalen Cephus (Cayla); his great grandchildren, Carter Cephus and Kai Cephus; his siblings, James Craven, Jr., Robert Craven (Katrina), Carl Craven (Beverly), Clifton Craven (Annett), Eric Craven, Vanessa Williams (Otis), Faye Boger (Cedric) and Regina Martin; his siblings-in-law, Gloria Davis, Allison Vinson, Regina Broadway (Steve), Karen Hargrave (Nate) and Clarence V. Hargrave, Jr.; his close friends, Roy Bush, Robert Perkins, Delmont Friday, Willie Daniels, David Cunningham, Rev. Darrell Thomas, Cindy Miller and Belinda Clark; and his caregivers, Montress Hargrave, Lauren Hargrave, Venice Williams, Regina Broadway, Le'Khia Hargrave, Tera Craven and Quintina Dennis. He is also survived by aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins.
Visitation was held on Friday, July 25th 2025 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Roberts Funeral Service (701 N Main St, Lexington, NC 27292). A celebration of life was held on Saturday, July 26th 2025 at 4:00 PM at the Union Baptist Church (110 Lincoln Ave, Lexington, NC 27292). A burial was held on Saturday, July 26th 2025 at the South Lexington City Cemetery South Lexington.
