He was predeceased by: his parents, Baxter Franklin Gobble and Lorraine Johnson Gobble; his wife Reba Carol Thomason Gobble; his son Gene Franklin Gobble Jr.; and his siblings, Kenneth Gobble, Jim Gobble, Mike Smith, Joann Smith and Peggy Tittle.
He is survived by: his children, Timothy Gobble (Sherri) of Wallburg, Michelle Jones (Tim) of Davidson and Tonya Singleton (Frankie) of Lexington; and his siblings, Tom Gobble, Randy Gobble, J. W. Gobble and Janet Myers. He is also survived by eleven grandchildren, five great-grandchildren.
