She is survived by: her significant other Elza Berkie Cox; her daughters, Carolyn Taylor (Larry Ewart), Debbie Hagenah (Lawrence) and Pam Cecil (Jeff); her grandchildren, Angie Taylor, Retta Boykin (Carl), Jason Love (Amanda), Samuel Love, Eliot Cecil (Kinsley) and Joy Cecil-Dyrkacz (Jeff); her great grandchildren, Tiffany Hill (Jordan), Christopher Taylor, Josh Vestal, Jacob Vestal (Amber Keenan), Alex Mullins (Kalynn), Haley Mangum (Ethan), Jaden Efird, Nichole Love, Lilian Love, Jake Cecil, Gracelyn Cecil and Oliver Dyrkacz; her great great grandchildren, Ashlyn Taylor and Grayson Vestal; and her caregivers, Tammy, Sissy and Barbara.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, October 13th 2026 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the First Pentecostal Holiness Church (1448 E US Hwy 64, Lexington, NC 27292). A funeral service was held on Tuesday, October 13th 2026 at 2:00 PM at the Family Thanks Piedmont Funeral Home (405 S Main St, Lexington, NC 27292). A graveside service was held on Wednesday, October 14th 2026 at 2:00 PM at the Ambrose Cox Memorial Park/Irenia Mayberry Cox Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to First Pentecostal Holiness Church in Lexington, NC and Alderwood of Davidson County in Helen's memory.
