He was predeceased by: his parents, Purcell Yarbrough and Maxine Howell Yarbrough; his wife Patricia Beck Yarbrough; and his siblings, Horace Yarbrough and Becky Stevenson.

He is survived by: his children, Madara Shillinglaw (Jeremy) and Kevin Yarbrough; his siblings, Clegg Yarbrough (Martha) of Lexington, Dorcas Biesecker of Lexington, Brenda Hartley of Lexington, Ruth Perrell (Johnny) of Arizona and Virginia Podgasky (Robert) of Lexington; and his grandchildren, Matthew and Sarah Shillinglaw.
