We are sad to announce that, on January 11, 2026, at the age of 78, James Pearson (Lexington, North Carolina) passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Vestal Lamonds Pearson (Mary Irene Nance Howard) and Albert (Amelia Church); his daughters, Jamie Rochelle Pearson and Amanda Pearson Lowe; and his siblings, Daniel F. Pearson and Nellie "Bobbie" VanDeYacht.
He is survived by: his wife Rita Everhart Pearson; his daughter Amy Pearson Hughes (Jimmy); his grandchildren, Victoria Haynes (Dylan), Jamie Lowe (Camille), Jessica Reimakoski (Chase) and Elizabeth Dominguez (Danny); his stepbrothers, Everett Pearson and Jimmy Green (Cathy); his sister Theresea Surratt (Cubby); his son-in-law Jim Lowe (Tracy); his brother-in-law Duke VanDeYacht; and his pet Little Bit. He is also survived by grandchildren; numerous beloved nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.
