He was predeceased by: his parents, James Whaley and Betty Sapp Whaley; and his sister Rebecca Whaley. He is survived by: his wife Elizabeth Whaley; his children, Heather Whaley-Bennett (Tym) and John Michael Whaley (Jessie Lynn); his grandchildren, Tymothy, Jordyn and Madyson Bennett; his brothers, Ron Whaley and Tom Whaley; his siblings' children, Jamie Whaley, Christy Sparks and Gabriel Whaley; his great-nieces, Alexia and Maleah; his great-nephew Lincoln; and his sisters-in-law, Barbara Whaley and Charlotte Hutchens.
