He was predeceased by: his parents, Troy Lee Kilpatrick and Virginia Mae Woodby Grosskopf; his former wife Sylvia Ann Kilpatick; his wife Teadye Sue Howell Kilpatrick; and his sister Phylis Cross.
He is survived by: his girlfriend Cathy Hailey; his sons, David Kilpatrick (Tracy) of Lexington and Benjamin Powers; his brother Tony Dills (Pat); his grandchildren, Sarah Kilpatrick Booe (Nick) and Jonathan Kilpatrick (Grace); and his great grandchildren, Emersyn Booe, Daniel Booe and Sutton Booe.
