She was predeceased by: her mother Nelle Tuttle Dozier. She is survived by: her father Clyde Bangle Hurlocker; her husband Charles "Buddy" Holder; her children, Brad Holder (Jenny) and Brooke Palmer (Phil); and her siblings, Tommy Hurlocker (Mert) and Janice Icard (Bob).

Memorials may be made to Hinkle Hospice House 200 Hospice Way Lexington, NC 27292 in Melanie's memory.
