It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Metha White Fortune (Lexington, North Carolina), born in Chatham, Virginia, who passed away on December 17, 2023, at the age of 82, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Sam White and Hazel Bennett White; her husband Jesse L. Fortune; her children, Hope Fortune and Stephon White; and her siblings, Nannie Owens, Charlie Sam White, Joseph E. White and Willie A. White.

She is survived by: her children, Travis Fortune (Carol), Jessica Y. Fortune and Carla D. Giles; and her siblings, Percy White, Sr. (Audrey), Doug White, Clarissa Woodberry, Lousie White and Marian White. She is also survived by seven grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
