He was predeceased by: his mother Ruby Nixon Jessup (Elmo); his stepfather Mallory Clinton Fowler; his sister Peggy Banks; his brother-in-law Bill of Mt. Airy; and his uncle Frank Nixon of Hamptonville.
He is survived by: his wife Betty Jo Pulliam Lyons; his sister Paula Whitaker Norman; his brother-in-law Steve of Elkin; his aunt Marie Nixon of Hamptonville; his nephews, Clint Whitaker (Jenny) and Brandon Whitaker (Kimberly); and his brothers-in-law, Ricky Pulliam of Lexington and Tony Pulliam of Roxboro.
Flowers will be accepted or memorials be made to Well Care Hospice of the Triad and or Mountain Park Baptist Church Cemetery Fund.
