She was predeceased by: her parents, William Burden and Sara Power Bookhart; her brother William Burden Bookhart Jr.; and her nephew William Burden Bookhart III (William Evans DeLapp). She is survived by: her children, Lee Peppers (Katherine), Julie Trimakas (Todd), Ellen Linder (Larry), Myra Moffett (Toby) and Ruth Sartin (Richard). She is also survived by fourteen grandchildren and sixteen great grandchildren.
She served as President for the Charity League of Lexington, Davidson County Community College Foundation, Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center Foundation, and the Lexington Women's Investment Club.
