He was predeceased by: his parents, Johnny Rogers and Nora Barton Rogers; his wife Nellie Rogers; his stepson Ricky Holt; and his siblings, Eugene Rogers, Jeanette R. Smith and Christine R. Smith.
He is survived by: his children, Joyce Rogers, Rev. Gwen Robinson, Donna Eller, Thomas Rogers and Tony Rogers; his stepchildren, Janice Thompson, Harriett Roberts (James) and Randall Crump; and his siblings, John Rogers, Willie Rogers (Dorene) and Elnora Hairston. He is also survived by 20 grandchildren, 34 great-grandchildren, 4 great-great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends.
Viewing was held on Friday, July 11th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Roberts Funeral Service (701 N Main St, Lexington, NC 27292). Visitation was held on Saturday, July 12th 2025 from 12:30 PM to 1:00 PM at the New Zion Baptist Church. A celebration of life was held on Saturday, July 12th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the same location. A burial was held on Saturday, July 12th 2025 at the same location.
