He was predeceased by: his girlfriend Vicky Essick; his son Tommy "Bo" Essick Jr.; and his parents, Thomas Essick and Pearl Essick. He is survived by: his children, Tammy Essick, Frankie Essick McRorie (Jeff McRorie), Kassie Allen (Chris Allen), Rena McGee (Terry McGee), Erickia Leonard (Barry Leonard) and Eddie Stansel. He is also survived by 14 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, November 4th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Roberts Funeral Service (701 N Main St, Lexington, NC 27292). A celebration of life was held on Tuesday, November 4th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location. A burial was held on Tuesday, November 4th 2025 at the Pilgrim Lutheran Church (823 Ridge Rd, Lexington, NC 27295).
