He is survived by: his wife Brenda Jean Everhart Essick; his children, Mike Essick (Jessie), Steven Dunn of Lexington, Jeremy Dunn (Ashley) of Asheboro, Theresa McElyea (Tony) and Jennifer Nobles (Roger) of Fayetteville, NC; his sister Mae McQueen of Lexington; and his grandchildren, Corey Essick, Jennifer Gardner, Jordan Dunn, Roger Nobles Jr., Holly Saddler, Devin Roberts and Megan Roberts.
