He was predeceased by: his parent Zula Leonard Swing; and his daughter Kara Heitman Chase. He is survived by: his stepfather Early Junior Swing; his wife Sherry; his sons, Eddie Heitman (Tina) of Lexington and Brice Heitman (Lindsay) of Winston Salem; his sister Gloria Tofano (Dennis) of Lenoir; his grandchildren, Ty Heitman, Isabel Heitman and Leah Heitman; his niece Michele Flowers; his cousin Lawrence Lanier; and his pet Miss Kitty.
In lieu of flowers, the family wishes for memorials to be donated in his name to Hospice of Davidson County, 200 Hospice Way, Lexington, NC 27292.
