Garland Smith Obituary
With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Garland Smith (Liberty, North Carolina), whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on July 9, 2025 at the age of 85. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Harvey Cime Smith and Ora Mae Terrell Smith; his siblings, Inez Robertson, Elva Joyce, Edward Smith, Odell Smith and Paul Smith; his stepdaughter Tammy Demick; and his stepgranddaughter Miranda Duffy.
He is survived by: his wife Jean Carol Strickland Smith; his children, Tammy Jo Smith (Eddie Evans) and Dean Smith (Melany); his stepchildren, Robert Haste (Donna), Theresa Keck, Johnny Bass and Brandy Jackson (Joseph Carter); his sister Christine Holden (Gerry); his granddaughter Regan Smith Baldwin; and his stepgrandchildren, Melissa Johnson, Jesse Haste, Nicholas Haste, Alyssa Haste, Trinity Knorr, Yazzie Tubiolo, Calli Jackson, Tamatha Duffy, Brandon Tavares and Eddie Ray Evans.
Visitation was held on Sunday, July 13th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 2:45 PM at the Loflin Funeral Home (212 W Swannanoa Ave, Liberty, NC 27298). A funeral service was held on Sunday, July 13th 2025 at 3:00 PM at the Loflin Funeral Home Chapel (212 W Swannanoa Ave, Liberty, NC 27298).
