He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph Milton Hockett and Ada Pulliam Hockett; his wife Bobbie Eatmon Hockett; and his siblings, Annie Alice Bruton and Grady Hockett.
He is survived by: his children, Lawrence Hockett of Liberty, NC and Phyllis Hockett (Kirk McEachern) of Fernandina Beach, FL; his grandchildren, Dewey Hockett of Charlotte, NC, Emalee Hockett of Liberty, NC and Sophie McEachern of Raleigh, NC; and his brother-in-law Tommy Bruton of Winnabow, NC. He is also survived by nephew, several nieces and numerous cousins.
