He was predeceased by: his parents, Edgar T. Smith, Sr. and Marie Jackson Smith. He is survived by: his wife Debbie Taylor Smith; his children, Jay Smith (Melissa) of Fuquay-Varina, Jamie Smith (Brooke) of Fuquay-Varina and Nicole Murchison (Tyler) of Lillington; his grandchildren, Taylor Smith, Henry Smith, Colby Murchison, Grant Murchison, Rhett Murchison and Lennon Smith; and his siblings, Janice Smith of Lillington and Jeffrey Smith of Lillington. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 22nd 2025 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the O'Quinn-Peebles-Phillips Funeral Home & Crematory (1310 S Main St, Lillington, NC 27546). A memorial service will be held on Thursday, October 23rd 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Lillington Presbyterian Church (1101 S 8th St, Lillington, NC 27546).
