He was predeceased by: his parents, Coye Everette Sain and Nannie Ruth Gilbert Sain; his wife Fay Sain; his son James "Jamie" Sain; and his siblings, Dean Sain, Johnny Sain and Faye Smith.
He is survived by: his siblings, Keith Sain (Linda) of Hickory, Gail S. Leonhardt (Gary) of Vale and Betty S. Houser (Jim) of Llincolnton. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
