He was predeceased by: his brother Harold; his parents, John Paul Heavner and Essie Leonard Heavner; and his sister Julia Heavner. He is survived by: his wife Mary Hoffman; his sister Jane Heavner; his children, Gene Heavner, Jeff Heavner (Crystal) and Nancy Price (Geno); his adoptive daughter Karen Hyder Simmons; and his grandchildren, Caroline Powell, Hayden Heavner Brandon Heavner (Elyse) and Hunter Reaves (Taylor). He is also survived by 3 great-grandchildren.
