He was predeceased by : his parents, William Dennis and Mable Irene Sigmon Lavander; his wife Syble Lavander; his daughter Cheryl Ann Lavander; his grandson Donavan Guy; and his brother Clyde Lee Sigmon.

He is survived by : his children, Marla Adams of Lincolnton, Angela Lavander of Lincolnton and Jerry Lavander of Lincolnton; and his siblings, William Lavander (Betty) of Maiden, Joyce Armstrong (Mike) of Lincolnton and Drucilla Watson (Brian) of Newton.

Visitation was held on Saturday, April 13th 2024 from 12:00 PM to 12:45 PM at the Lawings Chapel Baptist Church (4637 Lawing Chapel Church Rd, Maiden, NC 28650). A funeral service was held on Saturday, April 13th 2024 at 1:00 PM at the same location.
