He was predeceased by: his parents, George Washington Edwards and Phoeba Jane Collins Edwards; his brother James Edwards; his son Jason Ray Edwards; and his niece Calisa Marx.
He is survived by: his wife Mary Alice Ward Edwards of Lincolnton; his daughters, Kelly Rhinehart (Chad) of Crouse, Ashley Wilcome (Brandon) of Lincolnton and Stacy Cox (Larry) of Lincolnton; and his siblings, Marvin Edwards of Kentucky, Gloria Gunnels of Savannah, GA and Virginia Edwards (Steve) of Kentucky. He is also survived by numerous grandchildren; one great-grandson; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Sunday, October 18th 2026 from 2:00 PM to 2:45 PM. A funeral service was held on Sunday, October 18th 2026 at 3:00 PM at the Revival Tabernacle (992 Startown Rd, Lincolnton, NC 28092).
